Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi source precious Adelaide Plains old vine survival plantings from the 1950s.

Coupled with their non-interventional approach to winemaking, Longhop wines are rich, generous and full of flavour.

With this Cabernet Sauvignon expect medium bodied flavours of blueberries and violet, moving to darker blackberry and mulberry on the palate, fine tannins draw out a lovely savoury finish. Food match with roast beef or lamb, portabello mushrooms and aged cheeses.

Elegant, structured and aromatic.

2023

2023 was an excellent vintage. Mild weather conditions across the growing season with good winter and spring rains set up the vines. Mild conditions continued through summer with frequent showers contributing to one of our latest harvests on record. This allowed full ripening and flavour development at lower baumes. Overall outstanding quality for those prepared to wait and trust in the quality of the Adelaide Plains.

Adelaide Plains

Sourced from the original Normans 1952 single vineyard, this majestic and tranquil site abutting the meandering Gawler River is abundant with wildlife and river red gums. Sandy alluvium soils ranging to grey Gawler River loams dominate, free draining and friable, the vines never suffer from wet feet and fight hard to produce small, thick skinned berries of concentrated flavour.
